Larry Spatz

Larry Spatz, founder and CEO of SEVC, is an entrepreneur and philanthropist who has founded and developed a number of successful businesses.

Mr. Spatz became a member and a floor trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and later the Chicago Board of Trade, where he was a member and trader for nearly ten years. He was a founding member of the International Monetary Market. Mr. Spatz was a principal in Spatz International Trading Company, a brokerage firm and a clearing member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He managed the largest retail division of Rosenthal & Company, a major commodity clearing member firm. He became an officer and Director of Mercantile Trading Company, a licensed commodity brokerage firm.

Mr. Spatz developed Universal Petroleum, L.P. The company acquired drilling rights and created a team of geologists and drillers. The company drilled wells in West Virginia which pumped gas and oil for ten years.

Mr. Spatz founded the Baja Beach Club nightclub chain. He developed Baja into the largest nightclub chain in the United States. He later expanded the chain to Europe, with operations in the United Kingdom, Spain, Holland and the Canary Islands making it at that time, the largest night club chain in the world. He sold his interest to Scottish & Newcastle, plc.

In addition to operating Baja Beach Club, Mr. Spatz was the Chief Executive Officer of Baywatch Entertainment Company. He was hired to develop the Baywatch restaurant and nightclub chain.

Mr. Spatz was named in the “Who’s Who – Worldwide Registry” in 1992 and 1993 for his contributions to the restaurant and nightclub industries as C.E.O. of Baja International, L.P. He was named again in 2002 and 2003 as C.E.O. of Diversified Capital Management, L.P.

He was on the boards of Multi-Soft, Inc. and Multi-Solutions, Inc. both publicly traded software companies, and FreeTrek, Inc. a privately held software company.

Mr. Spatz is also the founder of the Children of Heroes foundation.  This non-for-profit organization provides financial aid and support to the children of those fathers and mothers who in service to their country gave the ultimate sacrifice.
